what is an "original print" in art terms?

my definition of an "original print" is that work on (usually) paper which is the result of an activity by me on some matrix (wood stone metal etc) that in combination with ink and pressure, by hand or press, produces a series explicitly limited by numbering that have a more or less close identity, ranging from quasi identical lithographs through closely controlled collotype/pochoirs to what might be better termed monotype multiples.
